Un convegno ad Istanbul: 2000 partecipanti, un segno di speranza.

Le donne curde ad Istanbul hanno partecipato al terzo meeting della Solidarietà delle donne per la pace. Donne provenienti da Diyarbakir e Batman accolte venerdì da scrittori, artisti, accademici, donne turche e curde.
Le partecipanti sono avvocate, sindacaliste, rappresentanti di organizzazioni non governative e Madri della pace.

Zemzem Fedai, portavoce dell'associazione ha detto: <<Il conflitto ha danneggiato sia le madri curde che quelle turche; la guerra non è stata decisa dalle donne ma la pace è loro necessaria. Per questo siamo venute da Diyarbakir e Batman a Istanbul. Per gettare un ponte per la pace.>>

Circa 600 donne sono venute da Pergamo, Amed, Batman e dalle regioni terremotate per sviluppare una presa di posizione femminile sulla pace. Un autobus che trasportava 45 donne curde portava uno striscione: <<Viva la solidarietà delle donne per la pace>>.
Sono state accolte dalle donne di varie associazioni con fiori, segni di vittoria e zilgits (speciali vocalizzazioni curde)

Erano presenti: KESK, Egitim-Sen, Bureau Workers' Union, Bursa Women's Platform, Mavi Iletisim (Blue Communication), Diyarbakir Metropolitan Municipality, Kadikoy Women's Platform, Agos Newspaper Armenian Women, Women of the Republic, Women of the Earthquake Region, Istanbul Women's Platform, HADEP Women's Wings, Human Rights Association, Mothers for Peace, Dicle Women's Cultural Center, Tunceli Women's Platform, Genel-Is Union, gruppi femministi, transessuali e personalità come Julide Kural, Derya Alabora, Derya Onen, Mukaddes Kubilay.

Presenti scrittrici ed artiste come Nadire Mater, Saynur Varisli, Duygu Asena, Derya Alabora, Julide Kural, Perihan Magden, Seryan Onen, Eren Keskin and Zeynep Oral, and women from Batman, Amed, the earthquake region and Bergama gathered in Bogazici University.

La sociologa Pinar Selek ha detto: vogliamo discutere dei nostri problemi e trovare la "nostra" soluzione.

Una madre di Amed: Sono vittima di una immigrazione forzata, vivo molte dimensioni negative, tuttavia voglio la pace.

Emine Cebeci: nelle zone terremotate donne curde e turche abbiamo gli stessi problemi, dobbiamo unire le nostre forze.

Muzeyyen Akin: quando dopo il terremoto mi hanno mandata ad Amed ho capito l'importanza della lingua e della razza. Su 50 dei miei alunni 15 non parlavano turco. Erano bravi in matematica ma non riuscivano ad esprimersi.

Gli interventi sono stati tradotti per chi non parlava turco, ed in seguito sono stati allontanati i giornalisti per lasciare alle donne la massima libertà di comunicare.

Derya Alabora e Deniz Turkali hanno parlato in Turco e Ayten Pasin della Diyarbakir Women's Platform in Kurdo.

Koma Asmin e Belkis Akkale hanno fatto danze curde "halay". L'attrice Gulsen Tuncer ha letto poesie. Deniz Turkali ha cantato il dolore delle madri cilene. Ha partecipato all'intrattenimento anche Julide Kural e scrittrici come Perihan Magden, Zeynep Oral e Duygu Asena.

Zemzem (Amed): I believe that this action will be a bridge of peace from Diyarbakir to Istanbul.

Senay (Amed): We as exploited nationally, sexually and on the basis of class, have started to break our chains.

Deniz (Amed): End to sexual, national and class exploitation. Long live struggle of the women for equality and freedom.

Beyhan (Batman): It is very meaningful that Turkish, Kurdish, Arabian, Laz, Armenian women, all women hold hands with their own will, their own voice, their own heart.

Seyhan (Van): It is very important to organize such platforms at the time in which peace is most needed. I wish it will continue.

Huriye (Bursa): As migration brings being rootless along with it, it tears off women from the problems peculiar to their own geography. My coming here was a reflexive behavior for holding on to life with a meaningful stance within the Turkish geography. It is very meaningful to see all women with their own voices, colors and languages together.

Ay?e (Bursa): I am with people who are not anymore foreign in a place which is not anymore foreign. Such togetherness give me hope.

Ayla (Bursa): It is very important that I have hold their hands here even if I could not hold them when I went to Diyarbakir. Future will be beautiful, free days, full of peace, will raise upon these holding hands. I believe it.
